ความเชี่ยวชาญ

Assistant Professor Dr. Natcha Mahapoonyanont is a leading scholar in educational measurement, assessment, and evidence-informed pedagogy. Over the course of her career, she has played a significant role in advancing national and international conversations on Assessment for Learning (AfL), innovative learning ecosystems, and the use of data-driven approaches to improve educational quality. With a B.Ed. (Honors) in Elementary Education, an M.Ed. in Evaluation and Measurement, and an Ed.D. in Testing and Measurement, she has built a robust academic foundation in psychometrics, quantitative methods, and research design—expertise that continues to shape her scholarly and professional contributions.

Dr. Natcha’s global perspective on educational assessment was profoundly influenced by her tenure as a Visiting Research Associate at the Institute of Education, Massey University, New Zealand (2014 - 2016). During this period, she engaged with leading researchers in assessment, classroom practice, and teaching professional learning. Her collaboration later expanded to partnerships with New Zealand schools (2016 - 2018), where she worked closely with teachers and school leaders to study and strengthen the implementation of AfL strategies in real classroom settings. These international experiences deepened her understanding of culturally responsive assessment practices and positioned her as a key figure in efforts to enhance teacher assessment literacy in Thailand.

Her research portfolio is extensive and interdisciplinary, encompassing educational measurement, classroom assessment, vocational education, teacher development, need assessment, and advanced statistics. She has led and co-led a wide range of national research initiatives that address critical issues in Thai education. These include the development of growth mindset indicators and measurement tools, analyses of factors influencing Thai students’ PISA outcomes, comparative studies of educational inequality across ASEAN countries, and the design of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) frameworks to advance lifelong learning. Her work also includes creating innovative instructional models aligned with 21st-century competencies and developing evaluation models for basic education institutions.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Natcha has published widely in SCOPUS-indexed, ERIC-indexed, and other international journals, contributing evidence-based insights that inform both scholarship and practice. She is also a frequent presenter at international conferences, where her studies on AfL, teacher development, and learning ecosystems have consistently received Best Paper Awards. Her academic recognition reflects not only the rigor of her methodological approach but also the practical relevance of her findings for improving teaching and learning.

Throughout her career, Dr. Natcha has been honored with numerous distinctions, including the Distinguished Scholar Award from the European Journal of Scientific Research (2021), the Honorary Alumni Award from the Faculty of Education at Chulalongkorn University (2021), and multiple Outstanding Personnel in Research Awards from Thaksin University (2020 - 2022). In 2023, she received Outstanding Research Awards at the ICESS International Conference for her contributions to educational innovation and pedagogical advancement.

Dr. Natcha’s body of work continues to influence educational policy, teacher preparation programs, and classroom innovation. By bridging sophisticated statistical research with practical application, she remains committed to empowering teachers, enhancing learning outcomes, and building educational systems that are equitable, evidence-based, and responsive to the demands of the 21st century.

Best Paper Awards. Notable recognition include:

  • Distinguished Scholar Award, European Journal of Scientific Research (2021)
  • Honorary Alumni Award, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University (2021)
  • Outstanding Personnel in Research, Thaksin University (2020, 2021, 2022)
  • Outstanding Research Awards, ICESS International Conference (2023)

Her ongoing work continues to influence Thai educational policy, teacher preparation, and classroom innovation - bridging robust statistical research with practical, transformative applications that empower learners and educators alike.
